CASE

WISE GROUP

The implementation of Microsoft Fabric in the architectural landscape led to significant improvements

RETAIL & SERVICES

Wise Group faced complex challenges within its system landscape, where outdated core systems and a lack of an integration strategy resulted in ambiguity and limited support for business processes. Knowit was tasked with implementing a structured approach to map systems and data, leading to significant improvements and insights for the client.

CHALLENGE

Lack of cohesion between systems hindered decision-making

Wise Group is a company in HR and leadership that, through specialist companies, provides recruitment support, consulting services, and digital services. They found themselves in a complex situation with a fragmented system landscape, where several core systems were outdated and lacked effective integrations. This resulted in inadequate support for business functions and hindered the management's ability to gain a comprehensive view of the organization. The lack of cohesion between the systems made it difficult for management to obtain a consolidated overview, further complicating decision-making.

SOLUTION

A cross-functional team ensured efficiency and adaptability

Knowit was given the task of focusing on central business processes to clarify how the organization’s systems and data support business capabilities and value streams. During this work, time was invested in jointly defining the problems with the client, which became a crucial success factor. By selecting a specific process, we documented what is done, who performs the tasks, and what data is used. This allowed us to collaboratively map the systems and data in a structured manner.

The methodology provided the management with valuable insights into how they can approach the system landscape and lay the foundation for beginning to manage data as a strategic asset. Through a cross-functional team with a mix of skills and an iterative, flexible working method, efficiency and adaptability in the project were ensured. Knowit also delivered significant value to the client through the production of process flow diagrams, business glossaries, and the identification of improvement ideas.

Additionally, an integration platform was developed and implemented, where data was collected into OneLake in Microsoft Fabric, and dashboards were created in Power BI.

Knowit has helped us navigate through our complex system landscape. Thanks to their structured approach and deep understanding of our business processes, we have gained clarity and insights that we previously lacked. The results speak for themselves – we now see a clearer overall picture of the business and increased engagement among our employees.

RESULT

Increased engagement and improved collaboration

As a result of these efforts, over 60 improvement proposals for both short- and long-term measures were identified, along with 40 risks and corresponding mitigation suggestions. Key initiatives were defined, and a clear roadmap for future work was developed. Engagement from the business increased, fostering collaboration and effective implementation of improvements. Additionally, a finance function with adequate infrastructure was established, reducing dependence on external expertise and supporting ongoing change and transformation.

Through close collaboration between team members and the client, as well as strong expertise in data analysis, we have managed to create significant value and clear guidelines for the future development of the client's architectural landscape. The critical success factors have been essential in achieving the project's goals and ensuring a sustainable solution for the client. With the foundation now laid, we have handed over the solution to Wise, which will continue to work on this independently.
